Summary of Research Activities
My career has spanned roles as a faculty member (lecturer, university professor) and later as a CNRS researcher, during which I pursued research, teaching, and administrative activities in parallel and with equal enthusiasm, assuming significant responsibilities in each area. My curiosity has guided me from the outset toward interdisciplinary work (interfaces between chemistry and health biology (1987–2007), then chemistry/ecology (2008–2024)), with a constant drive for innovation, the pursuit of applications derived from more fundamental research, and ongoing dialogue between students and researchers, as well as between public and private partners, all in the pursuit of scientific excellence. This approach has involved taking unusual risks. It is a path rich in scientific and human experiences, learning, and creativity. Today, it is giving rise to a new research focus where chemistry and ecology are closely intertwined. The ultimate goal is the development of a new green sector based on the circular economy, where chemistry and ecology are inseparable.
