Every year in France, there is a shortage of 20,000 engineers and 60,000 technicians for the sole reason that they have not been trained. This is a shortage that the country is struggling to fill, due to a lack of male candidates and, all too often, a lack of female candidates. This is because careers in science and technology continue to be a source of fear for far too many young women, who are victims of and/or trapped by stereotypes deeply ingrained in people’s mindsets.

This is a challenge we must take on: breaking new ground is not only essential for gender equality but also a strategic priority for the country.
