women in science

Immerse yourself in the inspiring journeys of ten remarkable women scientists, who are redefining the boundaries of knowledge, and of a predominantly male scientific universe.
Despite their fundamental contributions, women scientists too often remain invisible. Indeed, since the inception of the Nobel Prize, 894 men have been awarded a prize, compared with just 60 women.
The documentary series Femmes de science, comprising 10 episodes of 12 minutes each, spotlights remarkable female figures from the contemporary scientific world, often unknown to the general public. Whether they are directors of research units, PhDs or members of the French Academy of Sciences, these intimate portraits reveal their unique careers, their challenges, their discoveries and the impact of their work.
Their testimonies are a source of inspiration for younger generations, demonstrating that cryptography, astrophysics, maieutics, biology and neuroscience are scientific fields in which women have their rightful place.
