The New Faces of the Academy of Sciences, Episode 3 – Claude Grison

This week, our series “New Faces of the Academy” introduces you to Claude Grison, a visionary chemist and pioneer of environmental innovation.

🔬 Claude Grison, a research director at the CNRS and director of the ChimEco laboratory (CNRS / University of Montpellier), is the founder of Ecocatalysis, a groundbreaking approach at the intersection of bio-inspired chemistry and scientific ecology.

🌍 His goal: to transform plants capable of remediating contaminated soil into valuable chemical resources that benefit both the environment and industry. This innovative approach paves the way for a new green industry based on the restoration of degraded ecosystems.

✨ Her work has led to the creation of two companies, 46 patents, and exceptional scientific recognition:
🏆 2022 European Inventor Award, 2023 Influential Woman Award (Economics), 2014 CNRS Innovation Medal, and many others.

📺 Discover the story of a dedicated researcher who brings together chemistry, ecology, and innovation to help protect the planet.
