Taro is a nutritious plant and an integral part of the culinary culture of French Polynesia. Rich in minerals and vitamins, it has been cultivated and consumed by Polynesians for generations. This plant also has the capacity to sequester organic pollutants such as diuron, the herbicide used in pineapple cultivation.
