In Saint-Félix-de-Pallières (Gard, southern France) and the surrounding area, the legacy of mining continues to take a toll on residents’ health and their environment, which is contaminated with heavy metals. Following a decision by the Council of State in April, the former operator must begin cleanup work next month.
