Claude Grison, winner of the 2022 European Inventor Award: “We can clean up soil and water using plants”

At a time when the planet is burning, drying up, and revealing its limits a little more each day, the climate crisis seems more urgent than ever. But while doomsday scenarios make the headlines every day, not all of the harmful consequences of human activities on living organisms are irreversible—starting with soil and water pollution. Geo spoke with Claude Grison, director of the CNRS’s Laboratory of Bio-Inspired Chemistry and Ecological Innovations, who received the 2022 European Inventor Award for revolutionizing decontamination methods.
