“There is a real industrial demand for pollution control and the production of bio-based molecules,” said Claude Grison, winner of the 2022 European Inventor Award

In her laboratory at the University of Montpellier, researcher Claude Grison studies the use of plants to clean up terrestrial and aquatic environments. Her work goes far beyond simple decontamination, as she then uses the extracted metals to create natural catalysts that enable the production of molecules for industrial use, including in the construction industry. Already a recipient of the CNRS Innovation Medal in 2014, she was awarded the European Inventor of the Year Award this summer by the European Patent Office.
