Researchers have developed technologies that make it possible to create synthetic products that not only prevent new pollution but also… eliminate existing pollution! And thanks to phytoremediation—that is, using plants—researchers are able to “naturally” clean up contaminated water and soil, producing reusable compost in the process with a very low environmental impact.
