They invent the world of tomorrow

L’Express offers a gallery of portraits of around 100 personalities considered to be inspiring. It’s part of our history. In November 1953, our newspaper published its first "list of 100." Men (98 out of 100, no less...) were selected because they were paving the way for the future and were therefore considered to be the "driving forces" of France. The honor roll included many well-known names: Georges Braque, Albert Camus, Gaston Gallimard... In 2018, our list favors exemplary behavior over fame. And there are as many women as men. We believe that each of us holds not only the keys to our own future, but also the ability to advance our society. To change the world. Our world.
