What are the solutions to climate change?

Proposing solutions to address climate change has become a major challenge for the future of our societies: reducing greenhouse gas emissions—largely caused by human activities—and reducing the vulnerability of our societies and ecosystems through anticipation, adaptation, and resilience is vital. Given the complexity of the system in which we live—our development model based on fossil fuels and the exploitation of increasingly limited resources—it is time to identify the solutions within our reach and assess their viability and effectiveness. On the occasion of the 2015 Paris Climate Conference, or COP21, “thinking about solutions” to address climate change is essential. This collective work brings together some fifty renowned scientists and specialists to address today’s questions and envision tomorrow’s solutions. It offers a comprehensive overview of the issues related to climate change, as well as an original critical perspective necessary for building innovative and ingenious solutions that serve society.
