Invasive Alien Species: From Problems to Solutions.
Invasive exotic plants (Japanese knotweed, water primrose, water lettuce) pose environmental problems but are also potentially valuable raw materials for the chemical industry. Thanks to a long-term effort, eco-responsible management solutions have been implemented as part of a collaboration between the CNR and the CNRS (ChimEco).
The waste generated was recycled through sustainable chemistry for use in cosmetic and pharmaceutical applications.
