Women still significantly underrepresented in scientific patents

Less than 2 out of 10 inventors in France are women, according to a study published this week by the European Patent Office. In the fields of science, technology, physics, and mathematics, barely 16% of scientific patents were filed by women between 2018 and 2022, a figure that is slightly higher than the European average, but still far from the target.
