Bioremediation and Bioeconomy

Chapter 25
Among the causes of disruption of aquatic ecosystems, pollution and the development of invasive alien species are factors of concern. This chapter presents natural solutions for preserving water resources in the light of such problems through an interdisciplinary approach combining: (1) strong and sustainable support in the management of invasive alien aquatic plants; (2) early depollution of industrial effluents using biosorbent plant filters; (3) a solution to avoid the formation of undesirable industrial sludges; and (4) chemical and economic valorization of the phytotechnologies implemented.
